According to Indian law, what is a skill game?
The Supreme Court of India defined a pure skill game as follows in 1996:
Tournaments in which winning is dependent on a high degree of ability are not “gambling,” and a game that is largely a game of strategy is still a game of “basic skill” regardless of whether there is an element of chance.
As a result, we believe that “mere skill” refers to a significant degree or majority of competence.
Several states’ gambling laws, notably Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Telangana, Nagaland, and Karnataka, do not specifically prohibit playing skill games. Citizens of these regions are not eligible for our rummy gaming services.
On Rummy Glee app, is it permissible to play rummy for cash?
The following is implied by numerous Supreme Court decisions and Indian Gaming Acts:
- Wagering and betting on games of fate is known as “gaming” or “gambling.”
- Gambling does not include playing skill games for money.

What about payments?
While authorizing any payouts/withdrawals, we retain the right to deactivate and make complete and final settlements for accounts/keep payouts on hold for players who have linked bank accounts in the above states.
